By enabling physicians to consult patients in remote/underserved locations, particularly in time-critical situations such as stroke, telemedicine holds the great promise of improving access to care and quality of care while also decreasing healthcare costs that would result from delayed treatment.
Sadly, this promise has gone largely unfulfilled because telemedicine technology has been either inconvenient – requiring physicians to travel to a specific location to perform a telemedicine consult, or insufficient – failing to provide all the information needed to reduce the risk of making a remote consult.
REACH Call is changing all that with:
- Innovative web-based applications that make remote consults convenient, easy, thorough, and well-documented. Going way beyond standard audio/video communications, the REACH platform provides an integrated web-accessible view of everything needed to complete a consult.
- Real-time reports of consult statistics such as treatment times and transfers. Armed with this information, hospital administrators can make better strategies for outcome management, network development, and marketing.
- A team of Clinicians, Administrators, and Engineers who, having built their own successful networks, help guide hospitals through the creation and cultivation of their referral networks.
Our solution fosters:
- Better care and outcomes for patients in underserved areas
- Well-informed consults that decrease decision-making risk
- Stronger referral networks and increased revenue opportunities for participating institutions
Learn more about REACH benefits
Each year, approximately 795,000 stroke cases are registered in the United States. 96 to 98% of these cases do not receive timely stroke treatment due to insufficient access of neurological expertise at the local hospitals.
Unfortunately, just audio-video communication between a patient and a neurologist is not enough for stroke care. In addition to that, a neurologist requires CT images, and other information such as patient vitals and labs, NIH Stroke Scale calculations, etc. to properly diagnose stroke and recommend a treatment. Most importantly all this needs to be done in a very short window of time.
The REACH Stroke application integrates all the required information for a remote stroke consult into one place, makes it accessible over the web, and even stores the consult report and data for record-keeping, statistical reporting, and outcome management.
